PURPOSE:To make it possible to deflect the air flow at multi-stage angles without approaching to the air conditioner by controlling deflection vanes by means of actuators which are made of shape memory alloy that contracts itself when heated by its own heat upon being electrified. CONSTITUTION:When a cross flow fan 1 is turned in the predetermined direction by a motor 2, the air drawn in the direction of arrow A is blown in the direction of arrow B through the gap between left and right deflection vanes 3. In this instance, actuators 5a and 5b which are made of shape memory alloy that contracts itself when heated by its own heat are serially disposed at one end of a connecting rod 4. By connecting the actuators 5a and 5b to separate power sources 7 and 9, and turning on the switches 8 and 10, the actuators 5a and 5b are contracted. The contraction is transmitted to the connecting rod, and, as a result, the air flow direction is deflected.
