NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by the formula I (X is halogen; R is lower alkyl). EXAMPLE:N-(4-Chloro-2-methyl)phenylthiobenzamido-S-oxide. USE:A cardiac having anticonvulsant actioin, low toxicity and side effects. PREPARATION:A compound shown by the formula II is reacted with an organic peracid such as aqueous solution of hydrogen peroxide, perbenzoic acid, peracetic acid, etc., at room temperature for 20min-1hr, to give a compound shown by the formula I.
