PURPOSE:To enable the reserved quantity of oil for a compressor to increase by forming an auxiliary oil reservoir chamber inside the vessel of the horizontal closed compressor by a division plate having an oil outflow hole at its lower position, and by keeping always the pressure in the auxiliary oil reservoir chamber lower than the discharge pressure. CONSTITUTION:At the side end part in the interior of the vessel of a horizontal closed compressor, an auxiliary oil reservoir chamber 27 is formed by a division plate 26 having an oil outflow hole 29 at its lower position. The auxiliary oil reservoir chamber 27 is formed by a discharge pipe 25 penetrating the division plate, and the pressure in it is always kept at a lower pressure than the discharge pressure by the action of a suction pipe 128 which performs ejector effect. Since the oil outflow hole 29 formed on the division plate 26 is provided in such level as the rotor 3a of an electric motor does not come to contact with oil, the oil agitating loss due to the rotor does not caused, and plenty of oil can be reserved in the auxiliary oil reservoir chamber.
