<p>PURPOSE:To enable rolling resistance to be increased with no adverse effect accompanied on control performance by specifying the carcass radiant profile of a tire as referred to the titled allowing the bead section to be reinforced upto the stated height along the turned-up ply of the carcass. CONSTITUTION:In a figure where a tire is fitted into a rim, an intersection of a straight line and a carcass line is expressed as B where the line is located at the distance (h) from the line (l) which is the outer diameter line of the rim, and is equivalent to 15% of the height SH of the tire cross section. And a point, at which the end of the segment intersects the carcass line, is expresses as C. Here, the segment is perpendicular to the above said line, and starts upward from the point B. And the radius of a circular arc is expressed as R where the arc substends the chord of the segment BC. And the maximum distance between the chord and the arc is identical to the maximum standoff distance between the segment and the carcass line. Also the radius of curvature of the profile line of the shoulder intersecting the point C is expressed as R'. Then, the tire is configurated in such a way that a radiant surface profile is formed within the range where a ratio R/R' between radii of each is from 0.65-0.85, and the bead section is reinforced up to the height of from 40-50% of SH.</p> |
