PURPOSE:To provide the titled high-molecular material which can decompose almost all of malodor substances and can semi-permanently maintain a deodorizing action, by bonding a cationic group on the side chain of a high-molecular material to a specified anionic group of a metal phthalocyanine. CONSTITUTION:A cationic (or anionic) group of a high-molecular material such as vinyl or acrylic polymer contg. a cationic (or anionic) group on its side chain is reacted with 0.5-20wt% at least one anionic (or cationic) group of a metal phthalocyanine of the formula [wherein X is H, (substd.)alkyl, halogen, nitro, OH, alkoxy, alkylsilicon group and at least one thereof is an anionic (or cationic) group, and the central metal atom M is Fe and/or Co] under such conditions that the metal phthalocyanine undergoes steric hindrance by a high- molecular chain so as not to form a dimer, to thereby bond both groups to each other.
