PURPOSE:To prevent a tool, machine and work to be cut from damages caused by input misses by adding information necessary for operation with the tool to a portion of the tool under the condition capable of reading out the information through a reader. CONSTITUTION:A hob cutter 1 which is an information incorporating type tool hobs a work of gear blank attached to a hobbing machine 4 according to a predetermined program. Then, a bar code 2a written in the hob cutter 1 is read out by a code reader 6 of the hobbing machine 4 so that before the working by the hobbing machine 4 various preparatory plans are carried out according to information necessary for hobbing, for example, information related to tool, work working requirements, etc. Also, separately, instead of the bar code 2a, ROM tip 2c of IC may be mounted on the hob cutter 1 to store all tool information in the tip 2c. In this case, a digital signal reader 7 reads out the information of ROM tip 2c and sends the output to the hobbing machine 4. |
