PURPOSE:To prevent a reverse current from a drain to a charge transfer part, by forming a fixed potential barrier between a sending part and a drain part. CONSTITUTION:A charge storing part 6s and a charge moving part 6t are alternately arranged. A charge transfer part 9, which has a CCD structure and transfers inherent signal charge, is constituted. A side path is provided with respect to one storing part 6s1. A switching part 22 switches the discharge and the non-discharge of the charges, which form a staircase shaped potential that is lower than the signal charge, to a drain region 10 from the storing part 6s1 along said side path. A sending part 23 forms the similar staircase shaped potential. A potential barrier part 24 forms a fixed potential barrier. Since the fixed potential barrier is formed on the side of the charge storing part 6s1 in the drain region, the reverse flowing of the charge from the drain side to the charge storing part 6s1 is not yielded. |
