Method of producing a dental prosthestis base

For the production of a prosthesis base in which artificial teeth can be firmly implanted and which possesses good filling properties without formation of hollows, a thermoplastic synthetic resin is applied to a plaster mould in a lower moulding box and softened by heating, and thereafter a plaster mould in an upper moulding box is applied and compressed. Heating is effected by intermediate infrared radiation with a principal wavelength range of 3 mu m or more.
