摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To remove efficiently sulfur from a molten iron by blowing a flux to the molten iron from above and blowing gaseous hydrocarbon thereto from below in the stage of removing the sulfur from the molten iron flowing in a tapping spout. CONSTITUTION:Molten blast furnace slag 6 floating on the surface of the molten iron 5 flowing in the tapping spout 1 is dammed up by a skimmer 3 and is discharged from a slag spout 2. The molten iron 5 is then introduced into the 1st reaction area 7a where the flux for removing silicon is blown from the 1st lance by a carrier gas mixed with oxygen into the molten iron 5. The molten slag 6a formed by such blowing is dammed up by the 1st partition wall 4a and is discharged from the 1st branch slag spout 9a. The molten iron 5 is further introduced into the 2nd reaction area 7b where the flux for removing the sulfur is blown from the 2nd lance 8b by the carrier gas contg. oxygen into the molten iron 5. The gaseous hydrocarbon (methane, etc.) is blown from a porous plug 10 provided to the bottom of the 2nd reaction area 7b into the molten iron 5 at the same instant. The molten slag 6b formed by such blowing is dammed up by the 2nd partition wall 4b and is discharged from the 2nd branch slag spout 9b.</p>
