PURPOSE:A bottle having improved gas barrier properties without damaging improved characteristics of its own, obtained by blending polyethylene terephthalate resin with an ethylenevinyl alcohol copolymer in a specific ratio to give a mixed resin material, and subjecting the mixed resin material to biaxial stretching blow molding. CONSTITUTION:(A) Polyethylene terephthalate resin is blended with (B) 3-30wt% based on the component A of an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer resin to givea mixed resin material, which is subjected to biaxial stretching blow molding, to give the aimed bottles having improved gas barrier properties. The gas barrier properties rise with increase in blending ratio of the component B to A, but too high blending ratio deteriorates mechanical strength such as wear resistance, internal pressure resistance, etc., and molding properties, so the blending ratio is preferably 3-10% when so high gas barrier properties are not required. |
