PURPOSE:To improve the press contact of rotary magnetic heads onto a magnetic tape by forming a window from which an upper rotary magnetic head is projected to a circumferential face of a rotary drum and an air diffusion path connected to the window into the rotary drum. CONSTITUTION:Since notches 131a, 131b and a space 28 connected to them are formed in the rotary drum 12, the air constituting the air film at a part opposed to the notches 131a, 131b is diffused into the space 28 through the notches 131a, 131b and to the upper face of the rotary drum 12 through openings 133a, 133b and the thickness of the air film 30 is decreased. Thus, the magnetic tape 15 is biased into the notches 131a, 131b and even when external disturbance by the lower rotary magnetic heads 31, 32 is rendered, the contact of the rotary magnetic heads 21, 22 onto the magnetic tape 15 is improved. Thus, the air film is decreased, the sliding of the rotary magnetic head onto the magnetic tape is stabilized so as to improve the recording and reproduction. |
