PURPOSE:To attain a low cost and a space saving by providing an relay gear turned by a floppy disc drive motor, a notch gear and a solenoid controlling the start of the notch gear in response to an eject signal. CONSTITUTION:When data loading is finished and an eject pulse is given from a host, a solenoid 15 attracts a moving iron core 15a, a stop plate 14 is moved, its projection 14a is removed from a cam 13a, the notch gear 13 is turned in the direction of arrow by a rod spring 3a and meshes with a pinion gear 12b and the notch gear 13 starts turning. Then the pin 13b of the notch gear 13 presses the projection 3c of the eject lever 3, the pin 3b of the moved eject lever 3 is fitted to the recess 16c of a latch lever 16 to turn the notch 13c of the gear 13 until it opposes to the pinion gear 12b and the ejection is finished. Thus, the drive mechanism is formed compactly and light weight is also attained.
