PURPOSE:To decrease the time required for checking by providing a check device identifying editing and storing transmission data to any data transmitter/ receiver in a data transmission line device and displaying it selectively as required to trace the transmission data thereby facilitating troubleshooting at fault occurrence or periodic check. CONSTITUTION:A data transmitter/receiver Nn transmits/receives data with other data transmitters/receivers via data transmission lines 1, 2. Then all data on the lines 1, 2 are fetched by the Nn. Then the data of the line 1 is read in a buffer section 6 via a connecting line 4 and the data in the line 2 is read in a buffer section 7 via a connection line 5. The reception data read by the buffer sections 6, 7 is inputted respectively to an arithmetic section 8, where it is processed. The various data stored in a memory 9 are displayed on a prescribed display section 11 selected by a display section 10.
