Mononoscapine embonate of a formula I <IMAGE> wherein R is an alkali metal, an alkali earth equivalent or hydrogen, is useful as an antitussive agent. It may be formulated for oral administration as a water suspension containing polyvinylpyrrolidone. Such preparations have good stability, and noscapine is absorbed from them well. |
