PURPOSE:To simplify a drive mechanism for thermal transfer ink-ribbon cassette by a method in which supply reels for upper and lower ink ribbons are set on the same shaft, ribbons are pulled out to the opposite directions and guided to reversal winding direction within the cassette body, and upper and lower winding reels for the ribbons are set on the same shaft. CONSTITUTION:In a ribbon cassette 1, a ribbon 2 for forward transfer is set on the lower stage in the cassette body 1a, and a ribbon 3 for backward transfer is set on the upper stage. The ribbons 2 and 3 are wound around winding reels 4 and 5 with ratchet teeth in mutually opposite directions. The ribbon 2 is guided from a supply reel 9 to a winding reel 4 by guide balls 6, 7, and 8 provided on the bottom of the cassette body 1a. The ribbon 3 is also guided from a supply reel 15 to a winding reel 5 by guide balls 11, 12, 13, and 14 projectionally provided from the upside of the cassette body 1a. Since each winding reel for upper and lower stages ink ribbons can be driven by only one winding shaft, the drive mechanism can be simplified. |
