PURPOSE:To lighten a rotating shaft and a rotary atomization electrostatic coating apparatus and to perform the excellent coating work by fitting and fixing a supporting shaft of an atomization head made of the wear resistant metallic material to the front end part of the rotating shaft. CONSTITUTION:In a rotary atomization electrostatic coating apparatus, an axial hole 2 is formed in a front end face of an axial part 1a and a supporting axis 3 of an atomization head made of material excellent in the wear resistance and the solvent resistance such as stainless steel is tightly fitted to the inside of the axial hole 2 by a method such as the shrink fit. An atomization head 4 is clamped to a taper part 3a formed in the front end part of the supporting axis 3 with a bolt 5. In such a way, since the rotary shaft can be formed of the light metal, the weight of the whole apparatus can be made light. When this apparatus is fitted to a robot and a reciprocating coater, the atomization head is directed to the prescribed position and can be surely stopped.
