PURPOSE:To remove the salinity stuck onto the surface of sand by giving an ascending force to the sand which is introduced into a washing tank by a screw vane in the sand-lifting part and by stirring and washing the sand both by the washing water supplied and by a ribbon screw vane. CONSTITUTION:In the state that water is introduced in the washing tank 1, sea sand 31 is put into it, then the sea sand 31 placed on the lower part of said tank 1 is lifted into the sand-lifting part 8 by the screw vane 17, and is made to join and flow together with the washing water 33 coming from a washing-water supply pipe 27 in the course of lifting the sea sand. And, the sea sand 31 is sent upward by the ribbon vane 18 while being washed and stirred. The washed sea sand 31A produced by doing this is expelled by a blade 19 and discharged via a discharging port 9 onto a belt-conveyor 11. Consequently, the salt water generated by the avobe-described operation flows into the washing tank 1 via an opening part 12, the dehydrating of the washed sea sand 31A is carried out, the salt water in the washing tank 1 is also drained form a drain pipe 28 as an overflowing water and the sea sand 31 is washed.
