PURPOSE:To prevent a stepout by performing the rotation for generating a torque corresponding to a load applied to a stepping motor at rotation starting time, and the rotating by raising the rotating speed of the motor to the prescribed speed. CONSTITUTION:In case that a stepping motor 3 drives a mechanism for operating a print head 1 through planetary gears 8, 9 and a friction clutch, the maximum load from the mechanism is applied to cause the motor to be stepout when the motor is accelerated to become a high speed. Thus, the motor 3 is rotated at the prescribed low speed after acceleration. The torque of the motor 3 is sufficient to operate the mechanism. The prescribed low speed rotation is performed until passing the maximum load applied to the motor 3. Then, it is accelerated to the prescribed high speed rotation. Thus, the motor 3 is smoothly risen without stepout, and acceleration and constant high speed rotation are performed without defect. |
