PURPOSE:To easily smooth the side surfaces of a battery touching manifolds by packing a filling agent into concave areas formed by coolers, sham cells and cellular arrays. CONSTITUTION:After a few cellular arrays 1a are stacked together with coolers 2 having dimensions larger than those of the cellular arrays 1a interposed, the thus prepared body is placed between sham cells 6 having the same dimensions as the coolers 2. Next, the thus obtained body is clamped by clamping plates 9 with insulating plates 8 interposed. After that, a filling agent 7 principally composed of fluorine resin powder is packed into the concave areas on the side surfaces of the thus produced body which are formed by the coolers 2, the sham cells 6 and the cellular arrays 1a and which face manifolds 4. By thus packing the filling agent 7 with reference to the side surfaces of the coolers 2 and the sham cells 6, it is possible to easily smooth the sides surfaces of a battery 3. |
