<p>PURPOSE:To generate the invariably adequate assist force and return force by providing a function generator generating the adequate assist force based on the detection output of a torque sensor detecting the steering force in a controller for controlling the steering force. CONSTITUTION:The output of a torque sensor 2 detecting the steering force applied to a handle 1 is fed to a function generator 12, which determines the command current (assist force) in response to the steering force, and this command current is corrected in response to the output of a car speed detection circuit 17. The output of a torque sensor 2 is fed to a differentiation circuit 13, and the differential output is added to the output of the function generator 12 so as to eliminate the inertia of an assist force generating motor 7. The added value is next corrected by a steering angle correction circuit 14 with a signal generated by a return force generating circuit 18 and necessary to return tires to straight advance positions, and the motor 7 is driven and controlled by a command current generating circuit 19 based on the correction output.</p> |
