PURPOSE:To avoid the deterioration of the magnetic characteristics of an MR film by forming an amorphous ferromagnetic magnetic film and putting the MR film on said ferromagnetic film heated partially up to a level higher than the crystallization temperature via a nonmagnetic insulated film. CONSTITUTION:An MR film 6 is formed at the surface to which front and rear yokes 3, 4 and a crystallization film 5 are formed respectively via a nonmagnetic insulated film 7. Here the film 6 overlaps partly both yokes 3 and 4. The magnetic poles are formed at both ends of the film 6 for detection of the change of resistance due to the signal magnetic flux. The large magneto- resistance is obtained to a magnetic field of small amplitude like a reproduction signal since the coercive force of the film 5 is large. The route of the signal magnetic flux starts at the yoke 3 and goes through the yoke 4 via the film 6. The film 5 has a flat surface since it is formed simultaneously with both yokes 3 and 4. Therefore the characteristics of the film 6 put on the film 5 are improved. |
