CONSTITUTION:At step 100, whether engine rotation speed Ne is slower than judgement rotation speed Nj or not is judged. When engine rotation speed Ne is judged to be slower than judgement rotation speed Nj, counter CQR is reduced by one count at step 104, with the process proceeding to step 106. When this flow is repeated five times, decline volume ND is calculated by deducting engine rotation speed Ne from judgement rotation speed Nj at step 110. At step 112, timer CTJ for controlling the time necessary for putting dush pot into effect is calculated. When counter CQR and timer CTJ are judged to be equal to step 114 subsequently, dush pot volume DREC is obtained and then reflected in injection volume as pseudo accelerator divergence.
