PURPOSE:To coat the surface of steel with palladium by adding an excess of urea to palladium chloride, preparing an aqueous soln. of 2-3pH, immersing the steel in the soln., and drying and baking the steel. CONSTITUTION:An excess of urea is added to palladium chloride, an aqueous soln. of about 2-3pH is prepd., and well-cleaned steel is immersed in the soln. The steel is taken out, dried well and baked at about 550 deg.C for 3-6hr. The surface of the steel is coated with palladium. This palladium coated steel can be effectively utilized as a catalyst for purifying exhaust gas. |
