PURPOSE:To reduce line cost and to decrease the necessary number of the input output ports of a host computer by constituting the balance so as to execute data transmission between the host computer and an external equipment without operating the function which the balance has, in accordance with the command from the host computer. CONSTITUTION:The data from a load detecting part 1 are digitalized by an A/D converter 2, fetched through an interface circuit 3 to a CPU 4, a ROM 5, a RAM 6, etc., and continuous data are displayed 7. The command from the host computer, which arrives from an input-output port 8, is identified, and the data transmission between the external equipment and the host computer connected to a port 9 and a port 10 is executed without operating various functions of the balance. Consequently, it is not necessary to link a working robot and various sensors arranged at the periphery of the balance directly to the line, only by connecting the section between the balance and the computer with one line, the peripheral equipment also can be placed under the control of the host computer.
