摘要 A fuze needle 10 is used as an impact fuze for a warhead, in that, when said warhead strikes a target, the tip 10a of the fuze needle is forced by its inertia to stick into a detonator, which is not shown, and to cause detonation thereof. In order to bring about self-destruction in the event of failure of the impact mechanism, the fuze needle 10 is constructed in a plurality of parts and such that it can be extended like a telescope. The extension is caused by means of a compression spring 10d which, acting against an opposing force which causes a time delay, causes the two parts 10b, 10c of the fuze needle 10 to be driven apart from one another, and hence causes them to extend. The fuze needle 10 which is extended in this way can then stick into the detonator, which is arranged in a fixed position, by means of its tip 10a, despite the failure of the impact mechanism. The opposing force is produced, for example, by means of a space within the fuze needle 10, which space is sealed in a gas-tight manner by means of a plug 10k and a sealing ring 10g, in that a reduced pressure is produced when the two parts 10b, 10c are driven apart from one another. Pressure equalisation cannot take place until the holes 10f, which are arranged in the part 10c and are directed radially, pass over the sealing ring 10g, so that the compression spring 10d no longer has an opposing force against it. <IMAGE>
