<p>PURPOSE:To attain the easiness of traffic adjustment by service class such as priority/non-priority at every different service rate by avoiding transmission/ reception of a reception enable signal (RR signal) at the flow control during packet communication so as to simplify the control of a packet signal at transmission/reception side and improve the operating efficiency of a transmission line. CONSTITUTION:When a packet exchange 1 detects a call from each terminal equipment, the service class of a calling terminal equipment is identified and a link is set corresponding to the service class relating to the transmission characteristic such as priority, call loss or queue rate within the processing capability of an exchange so long as the permissible traffic at every service class is satisfied so as to transmit a packet signal without transmission/reception of a reception enable signal. A link setting request detection section 2 in the packet exchange 1 has a data representing the timewise fluctuation of the communication traffic and mean traffic corresponding to the service class of each terminal equipment. When a link setting request takes place, the service class of the terminal equipment is retrieved and the traffic data corresponding to the service class are attained by the its function.</p> |
