PURPOSE:To execute an exact adjustment by correcting a level in accordance with the cable length for connecting an artificial breakage signal generator, when adjusting a tool breakage detecting device provided with an AE sensor, by using said signal generator. CONSTITUTION:An AE sensor 6 is attached in the vicinity of a tool 2 such as a drilling machine, etc., and its output is processed by a signal processing part 7 and provided to a CPU 9, and a breakage of the tool is detected. Also, an artificial breakage signal generator 4 consisting of PZT, etc. is driven through a driving circuit 5 from the CPU 9, and a variation of the sensitivity caused by a fitting position, etc. of the AE sensor 6. In this case, in a keyboard 14, a means for inputting the length of a cable for connecting the signal generator 4 and the driving circuit 5 is provided, so that an output of the driving circuit 5 is corrected by its signal, and an artificial breakage signal is generated. Accordingly, the artificial breakage signal of the same level can be applied at all times, and the sensitivity adjustment of the AE sensor 6 can be performed exactly. |
