<p>PURPOSE:To provide an enclosed lead storage battery of high reliability, by securing the fitting portions of a plurality of electrode pillars to a splash-proof plate to integrally couple them together to heighten the accuracy of centering of the electrode pillars. CONSTITUTION:The projections 2b of coating resins 2, 2' provided on electrode pillars 1, 1' are fitted in the fitting holes 7b of a splash-proof plate 7 so that both the electrode pillars are secured to each other. The electrode pillars 1, 1' secured to each other are welded on an electrode plate group 6 comprising an anode plate 3, two cathode plates 4 and a U-shaped separator 5. The electrode plate group 6 is then inserted into a case 8 so that the tips of the electrode pillars 1, 1' project out of upper openings 8d, 8d'. The distance between the electrode pillars can thus be easily set at a prescribed value. The cross section of each of the coating resins 2, 2', which extends perpendicularly to the longitudinal direction of each of the electrode pillars 1, 1', is shaped as the section of a convex lens, which contains the optical axis thereof, or not only the cross section is shaped as described above but also resin just 10 are provided on the side edges of each coating resin, so that the coating resins can be fuse-bonded to the case 8 with high reliability.</p> |
