<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the damage of an oriented film by the discharge of static electricity and the burn of finely patterned electrodes by using a fabric woven of high polymer fibers having electrical conductivity to an orientation treatment stage by rubbing orienting film on a glass substrate to orient liquid crystal molecules in a specified direction. CONSTITUTION:A rotating body 2 is rotated in a rubbing device and when the orienting film 8 on the glass substrate 7 is rubbed by the fabric 3, the fabric 3 is grounded via a conductive adhesive agent 4, the rotating body 2 and a fulcrum shaft 1 and therefore static electricity is hardly generated. The damage of the orienting film by the discharge of static electricity or the burn or the like of the finely patterned display electrodes is surely prevented. The attraction of ambient dust, etc. by static electricity is obviated and the production process is effective as a remedy to prevent the trouble with dust in the production of a liquid crystal display element.</p> |
