PURPOSE:To easily perform color changing operation by storing developers or toner particles of different colors in a developer changeover container and a developer storage chamber separately and providing a supply chamber and the developer storage chamber with a supply means which supplies a developer to a developing roller individually. CONSTITUTION:When colors of development are changed, a shutter 17 is moved to isolate the scooping-up roller 15 and developing roller 16 in the developer storage chamber 3 from each other or to stop the scooping-up roller 15 and stop supplying a developer from the scooping-up roller 15 to the developing roller 16. In this state, when the developing roller 16 and a photosensitive body are rotated continuously, toner that the developing roller 16 carries is recovered in a toner recovering device through the photosensitive body 1. When the recovery of almost all toner from the developing roller 16 is detected, the developer changeover container 11 is rotated and the supply roller 14 of a chamber 13 which contains toner of specified color is stopped and held where the toner is supplied to the developing roller 16. Consequently, the toner supplied from the developer changeover container 11 is used to visualize a latent image on the photosensitive body 1, thus obtaining an image of the desired color. |
