PURPOSE:To prevent quickly and easily residual data from leaving unerased by seeking (retrieving) sequentially a track on which no data is recorded and applying erasure on the track position. CONSTITUTION:When a data is recorded sequentially on each track of a disc 11 by the 1st floppy disc driver including the 1st composite head 5, a recording track 23 shown in solid lines is produced. The disc 11 is loaded to the 2nd floppy disc driver, an operation section 22 gives a command of erasure of a 48TPI recording disc, and a control circuit 21 seeks sequentially odd number tracks in response to the command so as to apply DC erasure. That is, the 2nd composite head 8 applies scanning so as to produce a track 24 at a position shown in dotted lines thereby producing an erasure head scanning region 26 by the 2nd erasure head 10 at both sides of a no-signal scanning track 25 by the 2nd recording/reproducing shared head 9. |
