PURPOSE:To produce a gas having a specific water-content, quickly, by supporting an active metal on a carrier having small specific surface area and using the product as an oxygen-hydrogen reaction catalyst to be filled in a reactor for producing water from H2 and O2. CONSTITUTION:A mixed gas obtained by adding specific amounts of H2 and O2 to nitrogen gas is filled in a bomb 1, and introduced through the drying cylinder 2, the pressure reducing valve 3, the flow control valve 4 and the flow meter 5 into the reactor 6 filled with the catalyst 10 obtained by supporting an active metal on a carrier having small specific surface area or on a hydropho bic carrier. The carrier having small specific surface area is e.g. glass fiber, quartz wool, etc., and the hydrophobic carrier is e.g. Teflon, polystyrene, fluorocarbon, etc. The active metal is e.g. Pt, Pd, etc. A gas having a specific water-content can be produced quickly at a low cost, using a reactor maintained at normal temperature.
