PURPOSE:To reduce substantially the storage capacity of a memory division, by providing a printer having a means controlling an edit means, and a means dividing the memory division in several blocks to send the stored printing position information to a printing means so that the developed position of a pattern data cannot be over the read position thereof. CONSTITUTION:An edit division 12 receives the printing information from a receive buffer 11 and forms the starting position information for the buffer of the pattern data and the ending position information therefor and sends them to a line buffer 13. A developing motion control division 15 receives the developed position information for the pattern data from the edit division 12 to develop in the line buffer 13, and also receives the read position information for the pattern data in the line buffer 13 from a printing division 14, thus controlling the developing motion of the edit division 12. The printing division 14 reads the information stored in the line buffer 13 to conduct the printing thereof. In the line buffer 13, a pattern data memory division is divided in a plural blocks so that the pattern developing motion can be continuously carried out simultaneously with the printing motion. |
