PURPOSE:To remove Barkhausen noise due to discontinuous magnetic wall shifting by making the magnetic domain of the signal magnetic field detecting section of an MRE a single magnetic domain structure. CONSTITUTION:As the central part of horizontal part 11a of an MRE 11 has no magnetic wall, reproduction of good signals from which Barkhausen noise is removed becomes possible. Sense current Is that flows in the MRE 11 through two electrodes 13a, 13b flows only in the horizontal part 11a in which the MRE 11 is effective and does not flow in a magnetic leg 14 as the magnetic leg 14 and the MRE 11 are insulated electrically. Consequently, detection of high reproduction sensitivity is made possible. |
