The invention relates to a process for detecting and eliminating visible defects in sheet-like textile structures, preferably those composed of fibre yarns and/or yarns with or without fibre fractions, according to the sheet-forming process by means of mechanised and/or automated processes. The defective fabric web is moved in the longitudinal direction into a defect-locating and detection region and its surface extension and its types of defects are located by known means. By the supply of a donor sheet (preferably in fleece form), the located defects are needled by means of a multiple needling system and eliminated by known mechanised means and manual control commands or fully automatically with computer assistance. |
