PURPOSE:To reduce the reflection and transmission losses of a high frequency wave and to improve gains of a plane antenna by causing the properties of a protecting cover material, which covers the plane antenna for high frequency wave communication and protects it, to lie within a specific range. CONSTITUTION:The plane antenna is used in the field of high frequency wave communications, and its protecting cover is formed with materials with properties specified in the following range: 1.68+1.03rho+0.29t+0.2epsilon<=1.9, where rho: density of materials (gr/cm<2>), t: thickness of materials (mm) and epsilon: dielectric constant of materials. Moreover, the materials are made of a forming synthetic resin of a 10-95% free volume or a hollow synthetic resin, and the ultraviolet ray shield processing is applied to the surface of the protecting cover. Then the reflection and transmission losses of the high frequency wave are reduced, and gains of the plane antenna can be improved.
