By pressing on a key (11), the slide valve (2) of the sand container (1) is opened via an angle piece (12). As a result, sand falls through the guide lamellae (3) onto the strings (4) which have been strung in threes. Owing to the falling weight, these strings are made to vibrate. The sand falls further into a sand discharge (13). The vibrations caused by the impact of the sand particles on the strings (4) are transferred, via two webs (7), onto two separate resonance floors (5) or spaces and rendered audible and usable for music-making.
