In the known driver's cab of a suspended monorail, the driver's cab is vertically swivellable. After being folded down a front-side protective grille can be used as a ramp. In this way, it is possible, even in the case of relatively large distances between the gallery level and the travel rail, for the driver to get into the driver's cab and leave it relatively easily. In order to improve the ergonomic conditions for the driver 10, the invention provides for the entire end side 7 of the cab 3 to be covered with a protective grille 11 which can be used as a ramp which can be folded into two components. The protective grille 1 is coupled to the floor 13 of the cab. The cab 3 then no longer has to be swivelled itself. The monitoring instruments are attached centrally in the lower and upper field of vision of the driver 10 and do not impede his field of vision along the track. The supply and control lines 17 are covered in a hood-like manner. The hood-like cover 16, 20 can also include the primary monitoring instruments in the lower field of vision. <IMAGE>
