The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for distributing heat energy, liquids and gaseous substances, preferably for use in greenhouses. The aim of the invention is to achieve these methods using a pipework system and thereby to reduce the outlay on material, investment, operation and maintenance. According to the invention, the object is achieved in that a network of pipes is operated with the preferred function of transmitting heat energy using a heat transmitting medium which is simultaneously a medium to be discharged at intervals, the network of pipes being equipped with discharging elements of the irrigation device in accordance with GDR Patent No. 158989. This technical device is used, via different operating modes, to distribute heat energy through the network of pipes and to discharge liquids and gaseous substances in a metered manner.
