PURPOSE:To detect tensile strength and deterioration strength with high precision by giving a shock to a cast iron article and vibrating it, and detecting a resonance frequency and finding the attenuation factor of the vibration amplitude. CONSTITUTION:The cast iron article 1 is given a shock with a hammer 2. Its vibration is detected by a vibration probe 3 which converts the current mechanical vibration into an electric signal. Then, its detection signal is amplified 4 and inputted to a waveform analyzer 5. Its output waveform measurement result is inputted to a memory 8 and a microcomputer 9 detects the attenuation factor of the vibration to decide the tensile strength, kind, etc., of the cast iron article. Then, the results are displayed on a display part. Thus, the detection is carried out by a vibration analyzing method, so the tension strength and deterioration degree of the cast iron are detected nondestructively with high precision. |
