<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the titled magnetic recording medium with excellent electromagnetic transducing characteristics and durability and having a magnetic layer provided with an excellent mechanical property by incorporating a compd. having >=1 triazine ring and >=2 vinyl groups in the molecule into the magnetic layer furnished on a carrier as a binder and irradiating the layer with radiation. CONSTITUTION:Ferromagnetic iron oxide fine powder and barium ferrite can be used as the ferromagnetic powder, the acicular ratio of the ferromagnetic iron oxide to chromium dioxide is regulated to about 2/1-20/1, preferably >=5/1, and the mean length is effectively adjusted to about 0.2-2.0mum. The ferromagnetic alloy powder contains >=75wt% metallic component, >=80wt% of the metallic component is a ferromagnetic metal consisting of particles having <=about 1.0mum major axis. Acetone, etc., is preferentially used as the solvent for dispersing the ferromagnetic body and coating a magnetic coating liq. A compd. shown by the formula can be exemplified as the compd. having a triazine ring and >=2 vinyl groups. A urethane-acrylate oligomer is added, if necessary, to the compd. having a triazine ring and >=2 vinyl groups to further improve the durability.</p> |
