PURPOSE:To eliminate effect from variations in the liquid surface, by fastening a container having an open hole on a wall portion on the bottom of a cargo oil tank while a magnet is provided at a low part of the circumference of the container, in which a float containing a lead switch is hung. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical container 10 made of steel having a plurality of open holes 11 on the wall portion thereof is fastened on the bottom 1a of a cargo oil tank 1 while a pair of magnets 21 are provided as opposed to each other at the low part of the circumference thereof 10, in which a float 15 containing a lead switch 16 is provided and the lead switch 16 is connected to a signal transmitting cable 17. Then, the stripping of the cargo oil tank 1 is done and as the liquid surface of the oil lowers to reach the bottom of the container 10, the float 15 also is positioned at the bottom 1a, allowing the lead switch 16 to be operated by a magnetic force of the magnets 21 to turn the contact ON, which signals that oil dries up at the bottom 1a. Thus, the completion of the stripping can be detected accurately without being affected from variations in the liquid surface.
