PURPOSE:To improve minuteness and resolving power by generating carrier chrominance signal component and high range frequency component of lumi nance signals separately. CONSTITUTION:Carrier chrominance signal multiplex video signals taken out from the target of an image pickup tube 1 are delayed by 2TH by a delay circuit 11. The signals are added to multiplex signals of original frequency by an adder circuit 12, and passed through a narrow range trap circuit 13 that remove only carrier frequency component of the carrier chrominance signal. Accordingly, high range frequency component is generated separately for the luminance signals and only luminance Y signal component 2y can be obtained.
