PURPOSE:To obtain a recording picture with high quality by detecting the position of a mark provided to an image forming body to apply sequence control of an image reading section and a picture recording section thereby deciding acurately timing of each process of the picture image forming process. CONSTITUTION:Optical information of an original 18 is converted into a time series signal by color in an image read section LE, the obtained data is converted into a data suitable for recording by a picture data processing section TR and a recording section RE forms a recording. An electronic photography system is adopted for the recording section RE, a mark 3 with a high or low reflecting density is provided at the side ridge of the image forming body 1 and when the mark 3 is detected by a mark detector S comprising a photo sensor, a clock pulse generator generates a clock pulse. A control section controls the read section LE, the picture data processing section TR and the recording section RE according to the clock pulse.
