The contra-angle is fitted with means for illuminating the place of treatment. The light source 2 is incorporated inside the body 1 of the contra-angle and in front of this source an optical element 5 is inserted which is disposed in order to deflect the light rays towards the place of treatment 6, this optical element constituted by a prism or a mirror being fixed into a recess of the body of the contra-angle.
