PURPOSE:To reduce the cost of an interface by using a direction data input line and a control signal output line of a pointing device as a data line and a control tag line, respectively. CONSTITUTION:A connector of a computer body is constituted of nine pins, this data input signal is 4 bits (inputted to terminal number 1-4), also an output signal is 1 bit (outputted to terminal number 8), and a bidirectional signal is 2 bits (passes through terminal number 6, 7). Also, the logic is a positive logic, and the level is TTL. A line through which this input signal is transferred is a direction designating line, and used as a data line. Also, an output line is a line for sending a strobe signal, and used as a control tag line.
