PURPOSE:To obtain a waveform shaping device by which a phase variation is scarcely generated when shaping a waveform by providing an amplitude variation extracting means for extracting an amplitude variation of an input signal, and a waveform shaping means for executing an amplitude discrimination of an input signal by an output signal of the amplitude variation extracting means. CONSTITUTION:An input signal 5 is connected to one input terminal of a comparator 3 being one of waveform shaping means, and also connected to the other input terminal of the comparator 3 through an envelope detector 2 being one of amplitude variation extracting means. An alternate long and short dash line 6 shows a signal which is brought to envelope detection of the input signal 5, a broken line 7 shows that in which a DC portion of this signal is eliminated, and this signal becomes an output signal of the envelope detector 2. A section 8 is a section in which an amplitude of the input signal 5 is decreased remarkably suddenly. As a result, an output of the comparator 3 becomes as shown by a curve 9, and becomes zero in the section 8. In this way, a waveform shaping device which executes no waveform shaping in a part of a small signal which is considered to be abnormal, and also has no phase dislocation in an output signal can be obtained.
