COATING FLUID FOR FORMING TRANSPARENT INSULATING FILM

PURPOSE:To provide the titled fluid giving a coating film which is not broken during baking by heating, by adding basic lead carbonate to a soln. obtd. by hydrolyzing and condensing a tetraalkoxysilicon in the presence of an acid to adjust the pH of the soln. to a specified value. CONSTITUTION:A tetraalkoxysilicon (e.g. tetraalkyl orthosilicate) is subjected to hydrolysis and condensation reaction in an alcoholic solvent in the presence of an acid (e.g. aq. hydrochloric acid soln.) as a catalyst to obtain a soln. An excessive amount (based on the amount of said acid) of basic lead carbonate is added to said soln. to adjust the pH of the soln. to 4-5, and the soln. is filtered to obtain a coating fluid for use in forming transparent insulating film.
