PURPOSE:To simplify a mechanism that performs the opening and closing and storage work of a hatch cover divided into two or more along the stem and stern direction by sequentially overlapping the hatch cover vertically at the end storage section. CONSTITUTION:In the hatch cover of a cargo boat divided into two or more along the stem and stern direction, the end storage section 9a is provided with a device that moves each of the hatch covers 10a-10c in the stem and stern direction and a device that moves it in the vertical direction and both are overlapped sequentially in the vertical direction. During the hatch cover opening and closing and storage work, the opening and closing and storage work can be performed by such simple operations as horizontal motion and vertical motion except for the operation such as the rotation of the hatch cover and the mechanism can be simplified.
