PURPOSE:To regulate widely the discharge of paint by providing a gear pump, a controller and a changeover valve to an air electrostatic painting machine, changing the number of revolutions of the gear pump and switching the changeover valve. CONSTITUTION:A gear pump 2 for supplying paint to an air electrostatic painting machine 1 in an air electrostatic painting apparatus, a changeover valve 4 is provided to a paint feed pipe 3 on the way and the gear pump 2 is regulated by a controller 5 to control the number of revolutions of the gear pump 2. As the number of revolutions of the gear pump 2 is increased or decreased by the controller 5, the discharge of the gear pump 2 is changed and hence the discharge of paint is continuously increased or decreased. Besides, when the changeover valve is switched, the paint feed pipe 3 is connected to a bypass pipeline and the paint is circulated through the pipeline and is not fed to a painting gun. Accordingly, the discharge of paint can be widely regulated and painting is appropriately carried out.
